Cotton Closes in Red Alan Brugler - Barchart - Wed Jan 27, 10:43PM UTC Cotton futures closed the session with losses of 81 to 86 points. New crop December is down 44 points to 78.25 cents. The dollar is back higher after Turnaround Tuesday. The online cotton trading platform, The Seam, reported 10,172 bales sold this week through Tuesday, with prices weaker than last week. USDA’s Daily Spot Quotations report showed 7,024 bales were sold on Wednesday for an average price of 76.91 cents/lb. The Cotlook A index was back up by 75 points to 88.85 cents/lb. USDA’s AWP for cotton is 66.7 cents/lb and will be updated after the close.
